Making Sure Everything Runs Officer - MSERO

Diégo Van de Werve

Diégo founded Newstrail after observing an increasingly subtle yet dangerous divide in people’s political beliefs, a phenomenon often referred to as political polarization. He believes this polarization fosters exclusive, close-minded communities and, in extreme cases, breeds hatred for opposing viewpoints. According to him, the media industry plays a significant role in fueling this societal divide, driven by factors such as algorithmic bias, political leanings of publication houses, and customer confirmation bias. With Newstrail, his goal is to reconnect people across ideological boundaries by delivering neutral reporting that does not favor specific narratives, empowering individuals to form their own judgments on political events.
Diégo is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Global Politics at the London School of Economics where he learns how globalization shapes world politics, trade and international relations. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. In his free time, he enjoys running, traveling, and watching Scottish movies.

Guilhem views each challenge as an opportunity for growth and improvement. Deeply interested in global affairs, he remains committed to staying informed, yet recognizes that today’s information landscape doesn’t always encourage meaningful change.
